The sky feels heavy, and my feet are light,
Oh, I can’t see; why is everything so bright?
And after all these years, what’s more to be seen?
“Don’t worry! It’ll turn brighter; you’re just Eighteen!”

“Your scared mumbles now will turn into loud roars,
Do you remember what happened when you were a child?- yes, that force.
But make sure to look at strangers and smile,
and remember, all those demons in you are completely vile.

Now you won’t have to cry every night,
You see, that is why everything’s so bright!”

But, through all these years, where have you all been?
“Don’t worry! We’ll come again, you’re just Eighteen!”

This ground is breaking, and my mouth is still shut,
I can’t walk; I’m caught in a scary rut.
There’s no one else who can hear my cries,
and I still cannot show them my swollen eyes.

Now everything around fills me up with fright,
I see; that is why everything has to be so bright.

Well, after all these years, what does this even mean?

“Don’t worry! You’ll suffer more; you’re just eighteen!”
