Wandering down alleys, a belligerent fool
Tipping over trash cans, you can see my drool
Breaking windows, look, there’s a tool!
But not a physical instrument, a person to behold.
And lies were told on the most random of days,
I fought my friends in the sun’s powerful rays,
I contemplated in the worst of ways.
My thoughts I cannot share.
And all of this while drunk on beer,
And love on days with little to no fear,
Tomorrow’s lessons seemed so near,
But here I couldn’t sleep.
I cried those nights; the regret was deep.
My friends would no longer seek.
My companionship, my actions bleak.
Their friendship was now gone.
And years later, it seems so long
From yesterday’s belligerent song,
I’m all alone ripping this bong,
But that I must stop, too.
My faults turned my life to stew,
Years later, sober, if I only knew,
What would my actions do,
I would have turned to love.
Lessons learned; now the white dove
Has come from high and up above,
And what’s the message that it speaks of?
Brandon, never again.
So, forward on, I accept my sin,
Where today’s journey has yet to begin,
I’m sorry, friends, you’ll always win.
I meant to show you love.
And belligerent I’ll never be,
Because I must embrace destiny,
I swear, I must embrace destiny,
For my friends, they’re now all gone.
